Born 3 September 1948 in Oamaru, New Zealand Educated at James Hargest High School, Invercargill, Mana College Porirua, University of Waikato, Hamilton and University of Auckland

I have a daughter Kathleen-Jane b 1993
Marital status - divorced

I have worked in many occupations including:
accounts-clerk mechanic, truck driving, stores clerk, welder, crane driver, piling rig operator, drill rig operator, bridge & wharf builder, towbar fitter, muffler & brake fitter.

I entered the University of Waikato in 1997 where I gained my BSocSc (Hons) Psychology. I am currently working through a Diploma in Applied Ethics and have a partially completed Masters thesis on my computer. In 2007 entered the postgrad programme in Environmental Law at the University of Auckland Law School
